Long Overdue

Heading in to the doctor today for the first time in several years. I know that's a bad thing considering my age and whatnot, but the fact that we currently don't have insurance has been keeping me from going in as well. I'm looking at 152.00 to walk through the door, and I'm most likely looking at some blood work on top of that. Combined with the recent vet bills for the diabetic pup that went missing for two weeks, we're going to be living pretty thin over the next few weeks.

There was a time, about five years ago, where I would spend hours every night writing with a friend. We had been a part of a creative writing site, and we decided to take some of our characters and write a combined story. I have all of the sessions we did and I look back on them and wonder where my creative brain went. We never finished the story, and we had some issues because we never really had a beginning either. There were a whole bunch of individual scenes, but the connective glue wasn't there. We both got frustrated with what we couldn't get done and agreed to let it go.

I thought it was time for a fresh start with fresh content. While I have quite a few posts over at the old site, there were only a few posts that I thought were worthy of saving. I'm looking at the new year as a time to rethink things both online and off. Creating a more focused website was a big part of the plan. While personal blogging has always been something I enjoyed, it seems to me that it was time to step out from behind the "persona" because I want my content to be connected to me.
